Periodic Limb Movement Disorder

Periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD) is a sleep disorder that causes involuntary, repetitive limb movements during sleep. These movements can disrupt sleep, leading to insomnia or daytime sleepiness. PLMD is also known as sleep-related myoclonus syndrome or nocturnal myoclonus syndrome.

REM Behavior Disorder

Rapid eye movement (REM) sleep behavior disorder (RBD) is a sleep disorder that causes people to act out their dreams while in REM sleep. People with RBD experience a loss of muscle atonia, which is the normal temporary paralysis of the arms and legs during REM sleep.
